UPDATE: Three shot, two fatally, at Arlington QuikTrip. The Arlington Police Department is investigating a late night shooting that resulted in the deaths of two young men and injured a third.

On Saturday, April 26, 2025, at approximately 10:06 p.m., officers responded to a gas station in the 5600 block of S. Cooper Street to investigate a reported shooting.

When they arrived on scene, they found a 19-year-old man and a 20-year-old man with apparent gunshot wounds lying unresponsive in the parking lot. They were both transported to area hospitals where they were later pronounced deceased from their injuries.

Officers also located another 19-year-old man who was shot in the foot. He was transported to an area hospital as well, and has since been treated and released.

Multiple people involved in the incident, including the suspected gunman, were still on scene when officers arrived and were quickly detained.

After speaking to witnesses and reviewing additional evidence, detectives learned two groups got into a physical fight in the parking lot, during which the suspect – 17-year-old Saman Islam – retrieved a gun from a vehicle and fired multiple rounds, striking the victims. It’s unclear what started the fight.

Mr. Islam was arrested and booked into the Arlington City Jail on one count of Capital Murder and one count of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

The investigation is ongoing.
